Capture-recapture Analyses Introductory Workshop
The registration period for an introductory Workshop on capture-recapture analysis offered by the Animal Demography and Ecology unit of IMEDEA is now open.
This introductory course, which will take place between november 25th and 29th at the IMEDEA facilities in Esporles, aiming to introduce students, researchers and environmental managers to the theory and practical aspects of data analysis from capture-mark-recapture and recovery to estimate the probabilities of survival, recruitment and dispersal.
The course is based on theoretical classes as well as practical sessions with real and simulated data.
The different conferences that make up the Workshop will be presented by Dr. G. Tavecchia, Dr. A. Sanz-Aguilar, Dr. Andreu Rotger and researchers from the group.
In addition, invited researchers will participate in practical and theoretical classes.
All lectures and course material will be in English.
The Workshop will take place between 25th and 29th of November at IMEDEA facilities.
Who is this course for?
This introductory course on capture-mark-recapture techniques is aimed at doctoral students, postdocs, researchers and environmental managers willing to tackle this constantly evolving field. The analysis of individual-based data is rapidly expanding in ecological studies. Statisticians and population ecologists are working together adapting the analytical framework to answer finer ecological question
What do I need to access this course?
In order to take this introductory course, no previous knowledge of catch-mark-recapture or catch-mark-recovery analysis is necessary.
