Jorge Terrados

Jorge Terrados, lead of the team, PhD of Biological Sciences since 1991 and Senior Scientist in CSIC since 2000. He is an expert in the biology and ecology of seagrass, with more than 87 peer reviewed papers published in scientific journals. In recent years, he has led two research projects (Ministries of Agriculture and Environment and Science and Innovation) on the ecology of P. oceanica seedlings and two research contracts financed by REE on the restoration of P. oceanica grasslands. Inés Castejón Silvo

Inés Castejón Silvo, PhD since of Biological Sciences since 2011 and a postdoctoral researcher at IMEDEA (CSIC-UIB) since 2017. She is expert in Posidonia oceanica restoration techniques with seedlings and rhizome fragments and seagrass meadow functioning. More info.

Laura Guerrero Meseguer

Laura Guerrero Meseguer PhD of Biodiversity and Environmental Management (2018) and María Zambrano Postdoctoral Researcher. She is an expert in the ecology and sexual reproduction of seagrasses and her main line of research focuses on the study of environmental and anthropogenic effects on the ecophysiology of seeds and seedlings. María Rubio Bernal

María Rubio Bernal, research technician in the REE Marine Forest project. Her tasks include the organization and execution of field campaigns and the development of protocols for the morphological characterization of fragments in the laboratory.

Julia Castro Fernández-Pacheco

Julia Castro Fernández-Pacheco, predoctoral researcher (FPU) since October 2020. Her PhD project is “Quality of Mediterranean coastal habitats formed by marine macrophytes as recruitment areas for fish communities”. More info.

Clara Mecinas Martínez

Clara Mecinas Martínez, Master’s student on Degree in Marine Ecology at the UIB. She is carrying out the Master thesis project «Assessment of the recovery of the functioning of the ecosystem in a Posidonia oceanica meadow under restoration: Habitat for epifauna.»

Xi Wen Wang

Xiwen Wang, student of the Biology degree at the UIB. She develops an internship with us learning techniques for the determination of the nutrient content in plants.

José Martínez Cedeira

José Martínez Cedeira. Biologist and professional diver. Since 2001 he has been working on projects for the study of the marine environment. He is specialist in the monitoring and conservation of marine mammals and in the study of cetacean-fishing interactions. He has more than 25 articles in scientific journals and more than 120 communications in congresses. In 2021, he has been part, as research technician, of the REE Marine Forest project, participating in the organization and execution of field campaigns.

Júlia Garcia Colomé

Julia Garcia Colome. Master’s student in Oceanography and Management of the Marine Environment at the University of Barcelona and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, 2020-2021. She carried out his TFM “Evaluation of the recovery of the functioning of the ecosystem in a Posidonia oceanica meadow in restoration: habitat for ichthyofauna.”

Blanca Jordan Pisa

Ángela Rodríguez Ruíz, Master’s student in Marine Ecology at the University of the Balearic Islands. She completed her Master thesis “Carbon and nutrient balances in transplanted fragments of Posidonia oceanica (L.) Delile” in 2020.

Sofía Ten

Sofia Ten, fellow for the introduction to research at IMEDEA (JAE) between June and September 2020. She joined the field work of the Marine Forest project to monitor the survival and development of transplants and the sampling of associated fauna. She also contributed to the morphological characterization of transplants, determination of phosphorus content in plant tissue in the laboratory.
