04/06/2024

On July 4, 2024, “ConCiencia Gen Z: The Challenge of Ecological Transition”the third event in the series of Think Tanks organized by IMEDEA, will be held in Esporles. The goal is to create a space for debate and reflection among social agents and experts in the scientific field on topics of common interest. This new edition is especially aimed at empowering and giving a voice to youth in the debate about the future of the planet. Together, participants will reflect on the crucial role of science in tackling the challenge of ecological transition, which is essential in the "glocal" context of the climate emergency and biodiversity loss.

ConCiencia Gen Z will bring together young people from the Balearic Islands who are interested in and committed to the climate emergency. Through participatory methodologies, they will have the opportunity to interact directly and constructively with decision-makers in various areas of public administration, as well as scientific experts. The objective is to collectively analyse some of the environmental challenges we face as a society and to assess how science can contribute to improving the understanding and management of urgent and important problems.

During the event, crucial topics such as science communication, future perspectives, and scientific evidence in the face of the climate crisis will be addressed. The participants will contribute their ideas, knowledge, and experiences, creating a dynamic and enriching space that will foster dialogue and collaboration.

This event is aimed at young people aged 18 to 26, managers and decision-makers from different areas of public administration, and early-career researchers.

Registration is free at this link (in catalan language).
The registration period will be open until June 17.
